Crossing lines

At some point, you have to make a decision.
Boundaries don't keep other people out.
They fence you in.
Life is messy.
That's how we're made.
So, you can waste your lives drawing lines.
Or you can live your life crossing them.
But there are some lines... that are way too dangerous to cross.

Trouble Sleeping

And just being troubled really.
Still rolling and riding and slipping and sliding on the waves of a frothing, capricious universe.
I'm getting rather good at this.
Soon I can give lessons on coping with day-to-day uncertainty.

For the love of shoes

I cleared out my shoe closet today and threw out at least 10 pairs of shoes that I decided belong to the categories of
1. being too old
2. I will never wear them again
3. why did I buy them in the first place

So I've made space for my other pretty shoes.

I've really don't have that many shoes you know... although some of these have never been worn before.
Of course I didn't photograph all my shoes! My Nikes, runing shoes, Havaianas, wear-to-the-coffeeshop shoes and other flip flops are just not worth photographing. Oh and let's not forget my other shoes still lying dormant in my shoe closet back in Singapore.
But I love shoes. When I walk through Harvey Nichols, I just can't help making a pit stop at the shoe department... only to look.
So bring on the Manolo Blahniks, Jimmy Choos and Christian Louboutins!

Drunkees in Shanghai

My first time to Shanghai was probably the most embarrassing of all my layovers ever!
We arrived to the hotel at midnight, changed, and headed out to a club called Babyface, an hour away from our hotel in Pudong.
We drank a lot, partied till 5am, had supper (or rather 2 mounthful of my century egg lean pork porridge) and I don't really remember the rest very much. I recall waiting in the rain for a cab, I remember Steve trying to break up a fight, Yan almost getting into a fight, and I passed out in the taxi. After I reached the hotel, I remember taking a warm shower and leaning over the toilet spewing alcohol from my mouth and my nose. Eeewwwwwwwww. Gross. I can still remember the taste of spewed out alcohol in my mouth.

As usual, after returning to Dubai, I told the whole world that I am now a alcohol-phobe and I won't be touching alcohol for a very long time. But sometimes, my discipline is really being thrown 70 stories out the window. I was partying the night away at Zinc last night. I recalled the sick feeling in my stomach as I drank my vodka, but oh well, I'll get over it! Hahahahahahah...

Too much drama has happened yesterday. You know, people in Dubai have got nothing better to do sometimes than to make up stories about people and gossip. And considering that everybody knows everybody, and everybody talks, of course things like that would get to my ears faster than the speed of sound. I'm glad the boy cleared up everything for my sake. And here's a piece of advice to you... If you've got nothing better to say, please shut up!

Like a miracle, I've been pulled out to do a Sydney-Christchurch flight tomorrow. I literally jumped out of bed after collecting my roster changes on the phone. I'm so excited to go to Sydney now! But, this means that I'm not gonna see him for the next 2 weeks because he's going back home on leave. *sob sob* Stoooooopid reserve! I'll just have to call him at the hotel in Munich later to tell him.
